Key Details 

  • Do not collect samples while menstruating.
  • You must avoid certain foods and supplements prior to testing. See below for more details.
  • Limit liquid intake starting at 6 pm the night prior to collection. 
  • You will collect your sample upon waking. Do not eat or drink prior to collection.
  • Freeze your sample before shipping.
  • Samples may only be shipped Monday through Thursday.

Preparation & Timing

  • Do not collect samples while menstruating.
  • 72 hours prior to collection, avoid
    • Glutathione 
    • Binders, such as charcoal and bentonite clay
  • 48 hours prior to collection, avoid
    • Apples
    • Grapes
    • Pears
    • Cranberries
    • Arabinogalactan
    • Echinacea
    • Reishi mushrooms
    • Ribose supplements
  • The day before collection, 
    • You may fast for 12 hours to increase mycotoxin excretion, but it is not required.
    • Limit your liquid intake starting at 6 pm the night prior to collection.
    • Freeze the provided gel pack.
  • You will collect your sample upon waking. 
    • Do not eat or drink prior to collection.
  • If you are taking mycophenolate mofetil (CellCept/Myfortic), please check the corresponding box on the test requisition form (underneath where ENVIROtox Complete Profile is selected on page 2).
  • Save the cardboard box so that you can ship the sample back.

Collection Instructions

  1. You will only collect one urine sample. 
  2. Collect your first morning urine in the collection cup. 
    1. Collect prior to eating or drinking.
  3. Screw the collection cup lid on tightly.
  4. Write the patient's full name, the time of collection, and the date of collection on the provided collection cup. 
  5. Freeze urine specimen and provided gel pack for a minimum of 4 hours before shipping. 
    1. Keep in the freezer until ready to ship. 
  6. Place the collection cup into the biohazard zip-lock bag along with the absorbent packing sheet.
  7. Place the frozen gel pack and the urine sample into the silver thermo bag.
  8. Place the silver thermo bag into the cardboard box.
  9. Place the completed test requisition form into the cardboard box and close the lid.
  10. Place the box into the FedEx Clinical Pak Mailer and seal tightly.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.
  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.
    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
    • Do NOT fill out any information on the gplforms.com website.

Shipping

  • Sample must be frozen for a minimum of 4 hours prior to shipping.
  • Samples may only be shipped Monday through Thursday. 
  • To prepare your sample for shipping,    
    • Place the collection cup into the biohazard zip-lock bag along with the absorbent packing sheet.
    • Place the frozen gel pack and the urine sample into the silver thermo bag.
    • Place the silver thermo bag into the cardboard box. If the sample is not in the box, it will be rejected by FedEx.
    • Place the completed test requisition form into the cardboard box and close the lid.
    • Place the cardboard box into the FedEx Clinical Pak Mailer. 
  • Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
  • You may drop the package off at FedEx or schedule a FedEx pickup. 
    • Do NOT put the sample in a FedEx drop box.
    • To schedule a FedEx pickup, call 1-800-463-3339
      • When the automated greeting begins, say, “Schedule a pickup.”
      • When asked if your label has the word “Stamp” on it, say, “Yes.”
      • Let them know you are shipping using a Billable Stamp.
      • Your tracking number can be found on the Return Label.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-21 after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time. 
  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together. 
  • Your provider may choose to release your results to you. Rupa cannot release your results without provider authorization.
