The Allergix® IgG4 & IgE Food Antibody Profile measures IgG4 and IgE antibodies to commonly consumed foods.

Key Details

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist.

    • Information about scheduling a blood draw can be found HERE.

    • You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

    • Rupa Health recommends getting your blood drawn and sample shipped Monday - Thursday only to avoid shipment delays.

  • If you take certain medications, you may need to speak to your healthcare practitioner regarding timing.

  • The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

Preparation & Timing

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist.

    • Rupa Health recommends getting your blood drawn and sample shipped Monday - Thursday only to avoid shipment delays.

  • Freeze the provided freezer brick for at least 8 hours prior to your blood draw.

    • You must bring this with you to your blood draw.

  • Please speak to your healthcare practitioner regarding timing if you take immunosuppressive medications.

    • To get accurate results, it is recommended to discontinue these medications for 60 days prior to sample collection.

    • Do not discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider.

  • You do not need to fast or discontinue supplements prior to this test.

Collection Instructions

  1. Freeze the provided freezer brick for at least 8 hours prior to your blood draw.

  2. Complete the test registration (instructions HERE).

    1. Please ensure that the name on the registration matches the name on your Rupa order EXACTLY. If it does not match, you may need to recollect your samples.

  3. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. Frozen freezer brick

    3. Completed activation card

  4. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

  5. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, Genova recommends shipping with dry ice to ensure your sample arrives frozen. If your samples do not arrive frozen, you may need to recollect.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return envelope so that you may track your samples back to the lab.

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

  • If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, Genova recommends shipping with dry ice to ensure your sample arrives frozen. If your samples do not arrive frozen, you may need to recollect.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-21 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.

  • Your provider may choose to release your results to you. Rupa cannot release your results without provider authorization.
