The Advanced Intestinal Barrier Assessment analyzes intestinal barrier function in order to diagnose intestinal permeability, a root cause of many immune and inflammation-related disorders.

Key Details

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Wednesday only.

    • You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Fast for 12 hours prior to your blood draw.

Preparation & Timing

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Wednesday only.

  • Fast for 12 hours prior to your blood draw.

  • Freeze the provided ice pack for at least 4-6 hours prior to your blood draw.

Collection Instructions

  1. Freeze the provided ice pack for at least 4-6 hours prior to your blood draw.

  2. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. Frozen ice pack

    3. Completed test requisition form

  3. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

  • Samples should be shipped Monday - Wednesday only.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
