The 88 Food Allergy and Sensitivity Test (FAST) measures immune reactions to 88 common food antigens. It is used to help diagnose food allergies and sensitivities. This test may also be ordered with Zonulin & Histamine for a more complete picture of immune health.

Key Details 

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Thursday only. 
    • Information about scheduling a blood draw can be found HERE
    • You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.
  • Avoid steroids, such as prednisone, for at least one week prior to testing.

Preparation & Timing

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Thursday only.

  • Avoid steroids, such as prednisone, for at least one week prior to testing.
  • Freeze the provided ice pack for at least 4 hours prior to your blood draw.

Collection Instructions

  1. Bring the test kit, frozen ice pack, and completed test requisition form to your blood draw appointment.
  2. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.
  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.
    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.
    • Samples must be shipped Monday - Thursday only.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 14 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time. 
  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together. 
  • Your provider may choose to release your results to you. Rupa cannot release your results without provider authorization.
