You must fast for at least 8 hours prior to collecting your sample.

Preparation & Timing
You must fast for at least 8 hours prior to collecting your sample.
You may have water during your fast.
You do not need to discontinue any medications or nutritional supplements prior to testing.
Collection Instructions
Write the following information on the blood spot collection card.
First and last name - Please ensure that the name on the card matches the name on your requisition EXACTLY. If it does not match, you may need to recollect your samples.
Date of birth
Gender
Date of collection
Wash your hands with warm water for a few minutes.
Dry your hands with a clean towel.
To improve circulation,
Hold your hand lower than heart level and gently massage the entire length of the middle finger on your non-dominant hand for 30 seconds.
Hang your arm down and gently shake your fingers for a few seconds.
Clean the tip of your middle finger (on your non-dominant hand) with the included alcohol pad.
Remove the cap from the lancet.
Press the red tip of the lancet firmly against the side of your sterilized finger.
Press until you hear the click.
Gently massage the entire length of your pricked finger to form blood drops.
Touch the tip of the drop to a circle on the collection card.
Do not smear the blood drop.
Do not touch the card with your finger.
Fill all circles FULLY.
Blood should saturate through both sides of the card.
If you cannot get sufficient blood, repeat the process with the second lancet and another finger.
Bandage your finger.
Allow the collection card to dry for at least 24 hours.
Complete the test registration (instructions HERE).
Please ensure that the name on the registration matches the name on your Rupa order EXACTLY. If it does not match, you may need to recollect your samples.
Once dry, place the card in the resealable plastic bag.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
Shipping
Ship your sample within 48 hours of collection.
Rupa Health recommends shipping Monday - Thursday only to avoid shipment delays.
To prepare your sample for shipping,
Allow the collection card to FULLY DRY for at least 24 hours.
Fold the insert page in half to cover the DRY collection card.
Place the collection card in the resealable plastic bag.
Place the plastic bag in the provided return envelope.
Place the completed activation card in the return envelope.
Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-21 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
Your provider may choose to release your results to you. Rupa cannot release your results without provider authorization.
