The Urinary Hormones test assesses the status of hormones and their precursors and metabolites.

Key Details

If you are a menstruating woman, you should collect your samples on specific days of your cycle.
If you are taking hormones, you should collect your samples at specific intervals after dosing.
Avoid using anti-aging products and vaginal hormones for 3 days prior to sample collection.
Ship samples back to the lab as soon as possible.

If you are a menstruating woman, collect samples on the days indicated below:
If you are taking topical or oral (pill) hormones,
- Do not take within 12 hours of sample collection.
If you have hormone patches, vaginal rings, hormone pellets, or injectable hormones,
- Collect your samples halfway between doses.
If you are using steroids, consult your healthcare provider regarding the timing of this test.
3 days prior to sample collection
- Avoid using any anti-aging products.
- Avoid using vaginal hormones.
Fast for 2-3 hours prior to each sample collection.

Open collection materials and have them ready the day prior to collection, as your first collection will occur immediately upon waking.
You will collect samples at 4 points throughout the day.
If you miss a sample collection, collect at the appropriate time the following day.
- Make sure to label the tube accordingly.
Fast for 2-3 hours prior to each sample collection.

Collect your first morning urine into the urine collection cup provided.
1. Collect prior to eating or drinking.
Open the BLUE specimen tube.
Use the pipette to transfer the urine from the cup to the BLUE specimen tube.
1. Fill to the top of the tube label.
Recap the tube by pushing down and twisting slightly.
Write your name, date of birth, and the date and time of collection on the label and place it on the BLUE tube.
Place the BLUE specimen tube into the biohazard bag.
Discard any remaining urine.
Rinse the collection cup and pipette using water and leave to dry.
Wash your hands.

Collect your urine in the provided specimen cup.
Open the YELLOW specimen tube.
Use the pipette to transfer the urine from the cup to the YELLOW specimen tube.
1. Fill to the top of the tube label.
Recap the tube by pushing down and twisting slightly.
Write your name, date of birth, and the date and time of collection on the label and place it on the YELLOW tube.
Place the YELLOW tube into the biohazard bag.
Discard any remaining urine.
Rinse the collection cup and pipette using water and leave to dry.
Wash your hands.

Collect your urine into the urine collection cup provided.
Open the GREEN specimen tube.
Use the pipette to transfer the urine from the cup to the GREEN specimen tube.
1. Fill to the top of the tube label.
Recap the tube by pushing down and twisting slightly.
Write your name, date of birth, and the date and time of collection on the label and place it on the GREEN specimen tube.
Place the GREEN specimen tube into the biohazard bag.
Discard any remaining urine.
Rinse the collection cup and pipette using water and leave to dry.
Wash your hands.

Collect your urine into the urine collection cup provided.
Open the RED specimen tube.
Use the pipette to transfer the urine from the cup to the RED specimen tube.
1. Fill to the top of the tube label.
Recap the tube by pushing down and twisting slightly.
Write your name, date of birth, and the date and time of collection on the label and place it on the RED specimen tube.
Place the RED specimen tube into the biohazard bag.
Discard any remaining urine.
Rinse the collection cup and pipette using water and leave to dry.
Wash your hands.

Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

- Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Ship samples as soon as possible after collection.
To prepare your samples for shipping,
- Place all 4 urine specimen tubes into the biohazard bag.
- Seal the biohazard bag completely.
- Place the biohazard bag into the return bubble mailer.
- Place the completed test requisition form into the return bubble mailer.
- Seal and attach the provided return shipping label.
Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your samples back to the lab.
Ship via FedEx.
- Take your samples to the nearest FedEx location or schedule a FedEx pickup by calling 1-800-463-3339.
- Do NOT place your samples in a FedEx drop box.

Results should be released to your provider 7-14 days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
