This test identifies several pathogens in stool. The identification of these organisms is important for treatment and infection control.
Key Details
No special preparation is needed.
You will collect 3 samples over 3 consecutive days.
Refrigerate your samples until you ship them.
Ship your samples using UPS the same day as your final collection.
Preparation & Timing
No special preparation is needed.
Collection Instructions
You will collect 3 samples over 3 consecutive days. For each collection,
Label the collection tube(s) with the following information using a permanent marker (like a Sharpie).
Patient's full name
Patient's date of birth
Date of collection
Place something in the toilet to catch the stool. Some examples include:
An empty plastic container
Plastic wrap spread under the toilet seat. This should be loose enough to catch the stool but not loose enough for the stool to touch the water.
Make sure that your stool will not touch the toilet water or the toilet.
Collect your stool.
Use the plastic spoon to collect stool in the collection tube.
Select from multiple areas of the stool sample.
Fill only about 1/3 full.
Tightly reattach the cap on the collection tube(s).
Dispose of the rest of your stool and any materials used to collect it.
Place the collection tube into the provided biohazard bag or a plastic ziplock bag.
Place the bag into the test kit box.
Place the test kit box into the refrigerator.
Repeat steps 1-9 for each of the 3 collections.
Once all 3 collections are complete, place the bag containing the collection tubes into the test kit box.
Place the completed test requisition form into the test kit box.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
Shipping
Ship your samples the same day you collect your final sample, if possible.
Keep your samples in the refrigerator until you ship them.
To prepare your samples for shipping,
Make a note of the tracking number on the return label so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Take your samples to the nearest UPS location.
DO NOT place the envelope in a drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 1-6 business after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
