The Hormone Blueprint panel helps you understand how 11 hormones in the body are fluctuating over a four-day period.

Key Details

  • You will collect samples on four consecutive days.

  • If you are a menstruating female, talk to your practitioner about the timing of your sample collection.

  • Do not drink any caffeinated or alcoholic beverages prior to sample collection.

  • Do not eat or drink for 2 hours prior to sample collection.

  • Samples should be shipped Monday - Friday only.

Preparation & Timing

  • You will collect samples on four consecutive days.

  • If you are a menstruating female, talk to your practitioner about the timing of your sample collection.

  • If you are taking supplemental hormones (including melatonin, hydrocortisone, cortisol, or creams containing placental derivatives), collect according to the following schedule.

    • Patch hormones applied daily: Collect samples 12-24 hours after applying the patch.

    • Hormones in a gel, spray, pill, or cream: Collect samples 12-24 hours after your last dosage.

    • Sublingual and troche hormones: Collect samples 36 hours after your last dosage.

    • Patches applied weekly or injections: Consult your healthcare provider regarding the timing of your doses and your sample collection.

  • Do not drink any caffeinated or alcoholic beverages during the collection period.

  • Do not drink or eat for at least 2 hours prior to sample collection.

Collection Instructions

  1. Collect your sample when you wake up.

    1. DO NOT eat, drink, or brush your teeth prior to sample collection.

  2. Rinse your mouth with water 15 minutes before collection.

  3. Wash your hands and dry them with a clean towel.

  4. Write the following information on one label.

    1. Patient's name

    2. Patient's date of birth

    3. Collection date

    4. Collection time

  5. Place the label on the tube.

  6. Collect saliva in the tube.

    1. DO NOT force saliva into the tube - let it flow into the tube.

    2. DO NOT get any phlegm into the tube.

    3. If you cannot produce saliva, try

      1. Yawning

      2. Smelling food

      3. Thinking of your favorite food

    4. If you make a mistake, rinse the tube with warm water ONLY, let it air dry, and collect again.

  7. Fill the tube with saliva up to the maximum line.

  8. Tightly seal the cap back onto the tube.

  9. Place the tube into the refrigerator until you are ready to ship.

    1. DO NOT freeze tubes.

  10. Repeat steps 1-9 for the next 3 days.

  11. When ready to ship, place the tubes into the bag in which they came.

  12. Place the completed requisition form and specimen bag into the test kit box and seal.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • Ship samples Monday - Friday only.

  • To prepare your samples for shipping,

    • Place the tubes into the bag in which they came.

    • Place the completed test requisition form and specimen bag into the test kit box and seal.

    • Place the test kit box into the provided, prepaid UPS bag.

    • Seal the UPS bag.

  • Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • Drop off the samples at any UPS location.

    • DO NOT place your samples in a UPS drop box.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 1-6 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
