The P88-DIY Dietary Antigen Test analyzes IgE, IgG, IgG4, and complement (C3d) reactions to 88 foods with a powerful micro-sampling device.

Preparation & Timing

  • No special preparation or diet is needed.

Collection Instructions

  1. Open the silver specimen bag.

  2. Remove the clamshell container.

    1. DO NOT remove the desiccant pack.

  3. Open the clamshell container.

    1. DO NOT touch the sampling tips.

  4. Unwrap the gauze.

  5. Unpeel the back of the bandage.

  6. Wash your hands with warm, soapy water for at least 30 seconds.

  7. Dry your hands with a clean towel.

  8. Warm your hands by doing any of the following for at least 30 seconds:

    1. Rub your hands together

    2. Shake your hands and arms

    3. Jump

    4. Walk or run in place

  9. Choose the finger you will use.

    1. It is recommended to use the ring finger on your non-dominant hand.

  10. Twist open the lancet.

  11. Set your hand on a hard surface.

  12. Press the small end of the lancet against the side of your chosen finger.

  13. Press firmly until you hear a click.

  14. Wipe away the first drop of blood with the gauze.

    1. If a blood drop does not form, gently massage your finger until one drop forms.

  15. Pick up the sampling device and point the tips toward the floor.

  16. Touch one of the tips to the blood drop.

  17. Watch the tip turn fully red.

  18. Count for 2 seconds.

  19. Slowly remove the tip from your finger.

  20. Ensure the sampling tip looks like the "correctly sampled" picture below. If it does not, repeat steps 15-18 with a second blood drop.

  21. Repeat steps 15-19 with the other three sampling tips.

  22. Set the sampling device down on a hard surface.

  23. Apply the bandage to your finger.

  24. Close the clamshell device by lifting the sides to meet at the top.

  25. Press the sides of the clamshell device together until you hear a click.

  26. Write the following information on the label:

    1. Patient's full name

    2. Patient's date of birth

    3. Collection date

    4. Collection time

  27. Place the label on the clamshell container.

  28. Place the clamshell container into the specimen bag.

    1. Ensure the desiccant pack is still in the bag.

  29. Seal the specimen bag.

  30. Complete your test requisition form.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • Samples should be shipped via UPS as soon as possible.

  • To prepare your samples for shipping,

    • Place the clamshell container into the specimen bag.

      • Ensure the desiccant pack is still in the bag.

    • Seal the specimen bag.

    • Place the specimen bag into the UPS Lab Pack envelope.

    • Place your completed requisition form into the envelope.

    • Seal the UPS Lab Pack envelope.

    • Attach the shipping label.

  • Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • Take your samples to the closest UPS store or drop-off location.

    • DO NOT place your samples in a drop box.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
