The Cyrex GAM profile assesses the overall production of IgG, IgA, and IgM in the body to provide information about a patient's general immunity.

Preparation & Timing

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist Monday - Thursday only.

❗️Patients 15 years of age and younger cannot use Cyrex-contracted draw sites. Please see your patient portal or the email from Rupa entitled "Instructions for completing your lab test" for alternative blood draw locations.

  • DO NOT eat a high-fat meal before your blood draw.

  • Hydrate before your blood draw.

  • If you are taking immunosuppressants or corticosteroid drugs, contact your healthcare provider regarding the timing of this test, as certain medications can affect the test results.

    • DO NOT discontinue any prescription medication without prior approval from your healthcare provider.


Collection Instructions

  1. Read this article to prepare for your blood draw.

  2. Complete your test requisition form.

  3. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. Completed test requisition form

    3. If you are going to a Cyrex-contracted draw site, you must also bring your blood draw authorization form.

  4. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.


Shipping

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

  • The sample must be shipped Monday - Thursday only.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
