The SpectraCell Lipoprotein Particle Profiles (LPP Plus and LPP Basic) measure lipoprotein particles to determine cardiovascular disease risk.

Preparation & Timing

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Friday only.

  • You must fast for 9-12 hours before your blood draw.

  • Freeze the provided ice pack overnight before your blood draw.


Collection Instructions

  1. Read this article to prepare for your blood draw.

  2. Schedule your blood draw for Monday - Friday only.

    1. SpectraCell will only accept samples Tuesday - Saturday.

  3. Complete your requisition form.

  4. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. Frozen ice pack

    3. Completed test requisition form

  5. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

    1. Your kit may come with more tubes than needed. Please have the phlebotomist check the collection instructions and test requisition form to determine how many tubes of blood you need to have drawn.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.


Shipping

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

    • Samples should be collected & shipped Monday - Friday only.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
