These instructions are for the FarmaIQ, MethylationIQ, and LongevityIQ tests.

Preparation & Timing

  • You must collect your sample Monday - Wednesday only.

  • Fast overnight before sample collection.

  • DO NOT use mouthwash the night before sample collection.

  • Avoid the following activities on the morning of sample collection.

    • Eating

    • Brushing your teeth

    • Flossing your teeth

    • Using mouthwash

    • Chewing gum

    • Using tobacco products

    • Using/consuming coffee products

  • You may drink a small amount of water before sample collection.

    • If you drink water, wait 45 minutes before collecting your sample.


Collection Instructions

  1. Collect your sample immediately upon waking.

  2. Complete the test requisition form.

    1. Please ensure the name on your samples, requisition form, and Rupa order all match. You may be required to recollect your sample if they do not match.

  3. If you drank water, wait 45 minutes before collecting your sample.

  4. Carefully open one swab.

  5. Grab the swab by the long white stick.

    1. DO NOT touch the swab tip with your fingers.

    2. DO NOT touch the swab tip to any surface.

  6. Firmly scrape the inside of your left cheek with the swab for 45 seconds.

    1. Rotate the swab while you move it around on your cheek.

  7. Open one vial.

    1. DO NOT spill any of the liquid inside the vial.

  8. Insert the swab tip first in the vial.

  9. Align the black line of the swab with the edge of the vial.

  10. Snap the stick off of the swab.

    1. The swab tip should remain in the liquid.

  11. Close the vial tightly.

  12. Carefully open the second swab.

  13. Grab the swab by the long white stick.

    1. DO NOT touch the swab tip with your fingers.

    2. DO NOT touch the swab tip to any surface.

  14. Firmly scrape the inside of your right cheek with the swab for 45 seconds.

    1. Rotate the swab while you move it around on your cheek.

  15. Open the second vial.

    1. DO NOT spill any of the liquid inside the vial.

  16. Insert the swab tip first in the vial.

  17. Align the black line of the swab with the edge of the vial.

  18. Snap the stick off of the swab.

    1. The swab tip should remain in the liquid.

  19. Close the vial tightly.

  20. Place the two vials into the biohazard bag.

  21. Seal the biohazard bag.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • You must complete your requisition form and sent it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.

    • Please ensure the name on your samples, requisition form, and Rupa order all match. You may be required to recollect your sample if they do not match.


Shipping

  • Ship your samples back to the lab on the day of sample collection.

  • To prepare your samples for shipping,

    • Place the two sealed vials into the biohazard bag.

    • Place the completed requisition form into the pocket on the biohazard bag.

    • Place the biohazard bag into the return shipping envelope.

    • Seal the return shipping envelope.

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return label so you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • Consult the shipping label to see which shipping carrier to use.

  • Take your sample package to the nearest shipping location.

  • DO NOT place your sample in a drop box.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-10 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
