This test looks at how your gut health and oxidative stress (an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants) are connected. It measures markers that can reveal if your gut is inflamed, if you have "leaky gut" (where your gut lining isn't working properly), and how this relates to stress in your body.

Key Details
🧪 You will collect three different samples.
⏰ You can collect your samples at any time of day.
🍽️ DO NOT eat or drink anything besides water for 30 minutes before saliva collection.
🧊 Freeze the provided ice pack for 12 hours before shipping.
🚚 Samples should be shipped Monday - Thursday ONLY.
❌ DO NOT place your samples in a drop box.
🗓️ Samples must arrive at the lab within 4 days of collection.
Preparation & Timing
You will collect three different samples. You can collect them at any time of day.
DO NOT eat or drink anything besides water for 30 minutes before saliva collection.
Freeze the provided ice pack for 12 hours before shipping.
Collection Instructions
Saliva Collection
You can collect your sample at any time of the day.
Rinse your mouth with water immediately before collecting the sample.
Remove the cap from the saliva tube.
Remove the cotton plug.
DO NOT remove the suspended insert.
Place the cotton plug in your mouth.
Gently chew the cotton plug for 1-2 minutes.
Chew until the cotton is fully saturated.
Place the cotton plug back inside the tube.
Write the following information on the sample tube using a permanent marker.
Patient's first and last name
Patient's date of birth
Date of collection
Place the sample tube into one biohazard bag.
Place one biohazard bag in the refrigerator.
Leave the sample in the refrigerator until you are ready to ship your samples.
Urine Collection
You can collect your sample at any time of the day.
Collect urine in the provided collection cup.
Use the provided pipette to transfer 5 mL of urine to the yellow top transfer tube.
Write the following information on the tube using a permanent marker.
Patient's first and last name
Patient's date of birth
Date of collection
Place the yellow top transfer tube into one biohazard bag.
Place one biohazard bag into the freezer.
Leave the sample in the freezer until you are ready to ship your samples.
Blood Spot Collection
❗️ NOTE: You will not need to use all of the included lancets. Additional lancets are included in case you need to repeat steps 10-20.
Write the following information on the provided label:
Patient's full name
Patient's date of birth
Collection date
Collection time
Place the label on the blood spot card.
Unwrap the gauze.
Unpeel the back of the bandage.
Wash your hands with warm, soapy water for at least 30 seconds.
Dry your hands with a clean towel.
Warm your hands by doing any of the following for at least 30 seconds:
Rub your hands together
Shake your hands and arms
Jump
Walk or run in place
Choose the finger you will use.
It is recommended to use the ring finger on your non-dominant hand.
Twist open the lancet.
Set your hand on a hard surface.
Press the small end of the lancet against the side of your chosen finger.
Press firmly until you hear a click.
Wipe away the first drop of blood with the gauze.
If a blood drop does not form, gently massage your finger until one drop forms.
Gently massage your finger to produce a large droplet of blood.
Touch the droplet to one circle of the collection card.
DO NOT touch the card with your finger.
Fill the circle completely.
Repeat steps 14-15 to fill all 5 circles on the card.
If you cannot get enough blood, use another lancet to prick a second finger and repeat steps 10-15.
Apply the bandage to your finger.
Let the blood spot card dry for at least 30 minutes.
Close the blood spot card.
Place the blood spot card into the specimen bag.
Seal the specimen bag.
Complete your test requisition form.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.
You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.
Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
Shipping
Samples should be shipped Monday - Thursday only.
Samples must be received by the lab within 4 days of sample collection.
To prepare your samples for shipping,
Place your completed requisition form into the outer pocket of a biohazard bag.
Place the saliva sample into the insulated shipping envelope.
Place the urine sample into the insulated shipping envelope.
Place the frozen ice pack into the insulated shipping envelope.
Place the shipping envelope into the kit box.
Place the blood spot card into the specimen bag.
Seal the specimen bag.
Place the specimen bag into the kit box.
Place the kit box into the UPS Lab Pack envelope.
Seal the UPS Lab Pack envelope.
Attach the shipping label.
Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Take your samples to the closest UPS store or drop-off location.
DO NOT place your samples in a drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
