The Advanced Adrenal Stress Test measures several adrenal hormones and immunoglobulins to analyze adrenal function.
Key Details
🧪 You will collect four samples throughout one day.
💊 DO NOT take steroids for 72 hours before and during sample collection.
☀️ DO NOT take DHEA on the morning of sample collection.
🍽️ DO NOT eat or drink anything but water for 1 hour before each of your sample collections.
🚚 Collect and ship your samples Monday - Friday only.
Preparation & Timing

Your first sample collection should be done within 30 minutes of waking.
Collection Instructions
Collection Schedule
Follow the collection schedule above.
DO NOT eat or drink anything but water for 1 hour before sample collection.
Rinse your mouth with water immediately before collecting the sample.
Remove the cap from one tube.
Remove the cotton plug.
DO NOT remove the suspended insert.
Place the cotton plug in your mouth.
Gently chew the cotton plug for 1-2 minutes.
Chew until the cotton is fully saturated.
Place the cotton plug back inside the tube.
Write the following information on the sample tube using a permanent marker.
Patient's first and last name
Patient's date of birth
Date of collection
Place the sample tube into the refrigerator.
Repeat for each of the four sample collections.
When you are ready to ship your samples, remove the sample tubes from the refrigerator.
Place the sample tubes into the biohazard bag.
Place the completed test requisition form into the outer pocket of the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the insulated shipping envelope.
Place the insulated shipping envelope into the kit box.
Place the kit box into the lab mailing pack.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.
You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.
Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
Shipping
Samples should be shipped as soon as possible, Monday - Friday only.
Samples should be received at the lab within 6 days of sample collection.
To prepare your samples for shipping,
Ensure all tubes are properly labeled.
Place the sample tubes into the biohazard bag.
Seal the biohazard bag.
Place the completed test requisition form into the outer pocket of the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the insulated shipping envelope.
Seal the envelope.
Place the insulated shipping envelope into the kit box.
Place the kit box into the lab mailing pack.
Seal the lab mailing pack.
Attach the return label to the lab mailing pack.
Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Take your samples to the shipping carrier's storefront location or call them to schedule a pickup.
DO NOT place your samples in a drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
