Key Details
The night before you collect your samples, do not use mouthwash.
DO NOT eat, brush your teeth, or drink anything but water prior to collecting your samples.
Samples should be collected immediately upon waking.
Rupa Health recommends shipping your samples Monday - Thursday only to avoid shipment delays.
Preparation & Timing
The night before you collect your samples, do not use mouthwash.
Samples should be collected immediately upon waking.
DO NOT do any of the following the morning of collection:
Eat food
Brush your teeth
Floss your teeth
Use mouthwash
Chew gum
Use tobacco products
Drink anything other than water
Collection Instructions
Collect your samples immediately upon waking (before eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, etc.).
Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water.
Dry your hands with a clean towel.
Gently peel open the package labeled "Sterile Cotton Tipped Applicator."
Keep the package intact.
Only peel it open enough to remove the applicator.
Remove ONE cotton swab applicator.
DO NOT touch the cotton tip.
Open your mouth widely.
Insert the cotton tip of the swab applicator.
Aggressively scrape the inside of your cheek for at least 30 seconds.
Use a back and forth, up and down motion.
Rotate the applicator several times.
Swab between the cheek and gums.
Avoid excessive saliva.
Allow the swab to air dry for 15-20 minutes.
DO NOT let the cotton tip touch any surface or your hands.
Repeat steps 5-9 with the second swab.
Complete the test registration (instructions HERE).
Please ensure that the name on the registration matches the name on your Rupa order EXACTLY. If it does not match, you may need to recollect your samples.
Once the swabs have dried, place them back into the applicator package, cotton tip first.
Write the following information on the label and place it on the envelope.

Date of birth
Insert the swab applicator package into the provided envelope and seal.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.
Shipping
To prepare your samples for shipping,
Allow each swab to air dry for 15-20 minutes, keeping the tip from touching any surface.
Place the dry swabs in the applicator package (cotton tip first).
Place the applicator package in the provided letter envelope and seal.
Fill out the label and place it on the envelope.
Place the letter envelope in the provided collection kit envelope.
Place the completed activation card in the collection kit envelope.
Seal the collection kit envelope.
Place the Billable Stamp on the package.
Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

Ship via FedEx.
Call FedEx at 1-800-463-3339 to schedule a pick-up.
You can also drop the package off at a FedEx location. DO NOT place your samples in a FedEx drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-21 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
