The Menstrual Cycle Mapping test assesses hormone patterns throughout your menstrual cycle.
Key Details
This test is not intended for patients using hormone therapy.
You will start your collection on Day 7 of your menstrual cycle.
You will collect one sample every other day until you start your next period (or until you run out of collection cards).
Ship your samples back to the lab as soon as possible.
Preparation & Timing
If you are currently using hormone therapy (including birth control pills or IUDs), consult your healthcare practitioner before completing this test.
You will start your collection on Day 7 of your menstrual cycle.
Day 1 is the first day of your period.
You will collect one sample every other day.
Collect until you start your next period OR until you run out of collection cards.
It is okay if you collect all cards and still have a few days before your next period starts.
You will collect your first morning urination.
Drink no more than 8 oz water in the hour prior to collection.
Do not do any of the following until after collecting your sample for the day:
Eat
Drink anything but water
Take vitamins or supplements
Take medications

Collection Timing
Your first sample will be collected on Day 7 of your cycle.
Day 1 is the first day of your period.
You will collect one sample every other day until your next period begins or you run out of collection cards.
It is okay if you run out of cards before your next period starts.
Use the following schedule to collect your samples.
Do not collect on days marked with an "X."
*If you miss a collection,* collect either:
Your second urination of the scheduled day
Your first urination the next day
Then resume the regular schedule
Example: If you miss Day 15, you can collect your second urination on Day 15 or collect your first urination on Day 16. Then collect your next sample as scheduled on Day 17.
Collection Instructions
For each collection, you will collect your first urination of the day.
Collect immediately upon waking.
Collect prior to eating, drinking, and taking medications.
Remove one collection card from the plastic wrap.
Write your name, the date of collection, and the time of collection on the card.
Open the cover of the collection card by folding it back and away from the filter paper.
Do NOT touch the filter paper.
Collect your urine in a clean cup.
Dip the filter paper in the urine up to the top black dash line.
Make sure the filter paper is fully saturated.
*NOTE* You can also urinate directly onto the filter paper.

Hang or tape the collection card in a secure place to dry.
Example: over a towel rack
Do NOT let anything touch the filter paper.
Allow the card to dry for 24-48 hours.
Do NOT leave the card out for over 48 hours.
Refold the collection card.
Place the card into one of the plastic sample bags and seal.
Do NOT discard the absorbent pouch.
You can place no more than 5 cards into each sample bag.
Repeat steps 1-11 for each collection.
Complete the test requisition form. Make sure to write the date your next period begins.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
On the requisition form, make sure to write the date your next period begins.
Shipping
Ship your samples back to the lab as soon as possible.
To prepare your samples for shipping,
โPlace the plastic sample bags into the test kit box.
Place the completed test requisition form into the test kit box.
Close the test kit box.
Place the test kit box into the provided return mailer.
Affix the provided, prepaid label to the mailer.
Ship via the designated carrier.
Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track your samples back to the lab.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 3-5 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
