ELISA/ACT Biotechnologies' COVID Vax Panel identifies delayed hypersensitivities to two key COVID vaccine components: HMW PEG and Polysorbate 80.
Preparation & Timing
There are a lot of preparation instructions. READ CAREFULLY.
Sample collection should be performed in the morning.
Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Thursday only.
Wait 2 weeks after a cortisone suspension injection to collect your sample.
If you are taking allergy shots, consult your healthcare provider to determine the proper timing for your blood draw.
4 Days Before Sample Collection
Stop taking steroids and cortisone inhalers, pills, and creams.
ELISA/ACT recommends consulting your healthcare provider about a steroid bridge to help with the four-day avoidance.
Stop taking TNF inhibitors, such as Enbrel (etanercept), Humira (adalimumab), and Remicade (infliximab).
Stop taking JAK inhibitors, such as Xeljanz (tofacitinib).
48 Hours (2 Days) Before Sample Collection
Stop taking theophylline (aminophylline).
Avoid all over-the-counter antihistamines, antihistamine-containing prescriptions, and aspirin (acetyl-salicylate)-containing compounds. Examples include:
Arthritis Pain Formula
Avoid all salicylic acid-containing products if possible.
This includes shampoo, lotion, cream, etc.
12 Hours Before Sample Collection
Place the provided cool pack in the refrigerator.
DO NOT freeze the cool pack.
Take a shower/bath using simple soap and shampoo 12 hours before your blood draw.
DO NOT use soap or shampoo with perfume.
DO NOT use deodorant, moisturizer, or conditioner.
Brush your teeth with toothpaste 12 hours before your blood draw.
After this, you will not be able to use toothpaste.
You must fast for 12 hours before your blood draw.
You may only drink spring or tap water.
DO NOT take vitamins or medications EXCEPT:
Birth control pills/estrogens
Blood pressure medications or water pills
Insulin or other hormones (ex: thyroid hormones)
Heart medications (NO quinidine)
Coumadin or other blood thinners
NSAIDs such as Advil, Motrin, and Tylenol (NO aspirin)
Use toothpaste. Brush your teeth with spring or tap water only.
Expose yourself to second-hand smoke.
DO NOT use any of the following products after you have showered/bathed.
Scented hand soap
Other beauty products
Day of Collection
Drink lots of spring or tap water before your blood draw.
Rinse your mouth with spring or tap water.
DO NOT do any of the following before your blood draw.
Take a shower.
Use any beauty products or toiletries.
Take any medications or supplements.
Read this article to prepare for your blood draw.
Your blood draw can only be performed Monday - Thursday.
DO NOT get your blood drawn at an ExamOne location.
REFRIGERATE the provided cold pack overnight before your blood draw.
DO NOT freeze the cold pack.
Complete the Health Assessment Questionnaire and your test requisition form.
Bring the following items with you to your blood draw.
Entire test kit
Refrigerated cold pack
Health Assessment Questionnaire
Completed test requisition form
The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.
You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.
Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.
Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.
The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.
Results should be released to your provider 7-10 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
