The DUTCH Insomnia Cortisol test is an add-on to the DUTCH Plus®, DUTCH CAR, and DUTCH Cycle Mapping™ Plus. It analyzes cortisol's role in a patient's sleep disturbances.

This test is an add-on to the DUTCH Plus®, DUTCH CAR, or DUTCH Cycle Mapping™ Plus tests.
You may collect this on the same day as your other samples or on a separate night.
Collect when you wake from a sleep disturbance (typically between 12:00 am and 4:00 am).
Freeze your saliva sample until ready to ship.
Ship all samples as soon as possible after collection.

Collection Instructions
Set the saliva collection device next to your bed.
Collect the sample immediately upon waking with a sleep disturbance (typically between 12:00 am and 4:00 am).
Remove the tube cap.
Place the cotton swab from the collection device in your mouth.
Touch the swab as little as possible with your hands.
Leave the swab in your mouth until fully saturated. Do not leave it in longer than 5 minutes.
Lightly chewing on the swab may help stimulate saliva flow.
Once the swab is saturated, place the swab back into the same tube as you found it.
Do not remove the inner tube.
Do not spit into the tube.
Upon waking, freeze the saliva sample until ready to ship.
Complete the test tube label and test requisition form upon waking for the day.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
Shipping
Place your saliva sample in the freezer until ready to ship.
Use the provided return envelope to ship your samples.
Place your frozen Insomnia Cortisol saliva tube in the test kit box along with your other samples.
Place the completed requisition form and the test kit box in the provided envelope to mail.
Affix the prepaid label to the envelope, if applicable.
Please ship ALL tests as soon as possible after completion.
If you have to wait to ship your samples, please place the plastic bag containing the samples in the freezer until you ship them.
Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-10 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
Your provider may choose to release your results to you. Rupa cannot release your results without provider authorization.
