Access Medical Labs' stool tests analyze a variety of biomarkers found in the stool to help diagnose a variety of diseases.
Key Details
✅ No special preparation is needed.
🚚 Ship your sample via UPS on the day of collection, if possible.
❄️ If you cannot ship your sample on the day of collection, refrigerate it and ship it the next day.
🧪 If you have other Access Medical Labs tests (urine, blood, or saliva), YOU MUST ship all of your samples together.
Preparation & Timing
No special preparation is needed.
Collection Instructions
Use a permanent marker (like a Sharpie) to label the collection tube with the following information:
Patient's name
Date of birth
Date of collection
Place something in the toilet to catch the stool. Some examples include:
An empty plastic container
Plastic wrap spread under the toilet seat
Make sure that your stool will not touch the toilet water or the toilet.
Collect your stool.
Use the plastic spoon to collect stool in the stool collection tube.
Select from multiple areas of the stool sample.
Fill only about 1/3 full.
Tightly reattach the cap on the collection tube.
Dispose of the rest of your stool and any materials used to collect it.
Place the collection tube into the provided biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag and the completed test requisition form into the test kit box.
If you cannot ship your sample the same day you collect it, place the test kit box into the refrigerator and send it the next day.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.
You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your sample.
Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.
Shipping
❗️If you have other Access Medical Labs tests (urine, blood, or saliva), YOU MUST ship all of your samples together.
Ship your stool sample on the day of collection, if possible.
If you cannot ship the sample on the day of collection, place the test kit box into the refrigerator and ship it the next day.
To prepare your sample for shipping,
Place the collection tube into the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the test kit box.
Place the completed test requisition form in the test kit box.
Place the test kit box into the prepaid UPS mailing envelope.
Seal the envelope.
Make a note of the tracking number on the return label so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Take your sample to a UPS location.
DO NOT place the envelope in a drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 1-6 business days after your sample is received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
