This test is used to detect and identify parasitic infections.

Preparation & Timing

  • No special preparation is needed.


Collection Instructions

❗️ You will collect 3 samples over 3 consecutive days.

For each collection,

  1. Use a permanent marker (like a Sharpie) to label the collection tube with the following information:

    1. Patient's name

    2. Date of birth

    3. Date of collection

  2. Place something in the toilet to catch the stool. Some examples include:

    1. An empty plastic container

    2. Plastic wrap spread under the toilet seat

  3. Make sure that your stool will not touch the toilet water or the toilet.

  4. Collect your stool.

  5. Use the plastic spoon to collect stool in the stool collection tube.

    1. Select from multiple areas of the stool sample.

    2. Fill only about 1/3 full.

  6. Tightly reattach the cap on the collection tube.

  7. Dispose of the rest of your stool and any materials used to collect it.

  8. Place the collection tube into the provided biohazard bag.

  9. Place the biohazard bag into the test kit box.

  10. Place the test kit box into the refrigerator.

REPEAT FOR EACH OF THE 3 COLLECTIONS.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.


Shipping

❗️If you have other Access Medical Labs tests (urine, blood, or saliva), YOU MUST ship all of your samples together.

  • Ship your samples on the day you collect your final sample, if possible.

    • Keep your samples in the refrigerator until you ship them.

  • To prepare your samples for shipping,

    • Place the collection tubes into the biohazard bag.

    • Place the biohazard bag into the test kit box.

    • Place the completed test requisition form in the test kit box.

    • Place the test kit box into the prepaid UPS mailing envelope.

    • Seal the envelope.

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return label so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

  • Take your samples to a UPS location.

    • DO NOT place the envelope in a drop box.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 1-6 business days after your samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
