The Toxin Genetics test examines genetic variations that can significantly influence your body's ability to effectively detoxify harmful substances.

Key Details

  • You must avoid certain foods prior to sample collection.

  • Ship your sample back to the lab within 12 hours of collection.

Preparation & Timing

  • Avoid the following foods prior to sample collection:

    • Foods high in sugar

    • Highly acidic foods

    • Foods high in caffeine

  • DO NOT eat a meal within 1 hour of sample collection.

Collection Instructions

  1. DO NOT eat a meal within 1 hour of sample collection.

  2. Rinse your mouth with water.

  3. Wait 10 minutes before collecting your sample.

  4. Gather all of the collection materials.

  5. Allow saliva to pool in your mouth.

    1. TIP: Yawning or thinking about your favorite food may help stimulate saliva production.

  6. Hold the tube vertically.

    1. DO NOT touch or discard the liquid in the tube.

  7. Place the funnel opening under your mouth.

  8. Gently spit saliva into the funnel.

  9. Repeat step 8 until the saliva liquid reaches the FILL LINE.

  10. Hold the tube vertically.

  11. Twist the funnel to remove it from the sample tube.

  12. Get the tube cap.

  13. Press and turn the cap to close the tube.

  14. Ensure the tube is closed tightly.

  15. Shake the sample tube vigorously at least 10 times.

  16. Write the following information on the provided label.

    1. Date of collection

    2. Time of collection

  17. Place the label on the sample tube.

  18. Place the sample tube into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad.

  19. Complete the test requisition form.

  20. Ship your sample within 12 hours of sample collection.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • Ship your sample within 12 hours of sample collection.

  • To prepare your sample for shipping,

    • Place the labeled sample tube into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad.

    • Seal the biohazard bag.

    • Place the biohazard bag into the return envelope.

    • Place the completed sample requisition into the return envelope.

    • Seal the return envelope.

  • Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • Ship via FedEx. You can schedule a FedEx pickup by calling 1-800-463-3339.

    • DO NOT place your sample in a FedEx dropbox.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 days after your sample is received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
