The OMX™ Organic Metabolomics test evaluates urine metabolites to reveal patients' unique Metabolic Signature.


Key Details

  • 🍽️ You must avoid certain foods for 48 hours before collecting your sample.

  • 🧊 Your sample should remain in the freezer until you ship it.

  • 📄 Please print the requisition form from your Rupa patient portal and send it back with your samples. Your sample must be CLEARLY labeled and arrive at the lab with a completed test requisition form for the lab to analyze it.

  • 🚚 Ship your sample as soon as possible after collection.


Preparation & Timing

  • Avoid the following foods for 48 hours before collecting your sample.

    • Fruits

    • Jams

    • Jellies

  • Continue taking any nutritional supplements and medications unless your healthcare provider says otherwise.


Collection Instructions

  1. Write the following information on the collection cup label using a permanent marker. Unlabeled samples will not be analyzed by the lab.

    1. Patient's full name

    2. Patient's date of birth

    3. Date of collection

  2. Before bed, empty your bladder. DO NOT collect this urine.

  3. Upon waking, collect your first morning urine into the provided collection cup.

    1. Ensure it has been at least six hours since you last emptied your bladder.

  4. You should collect between 15 mL and 50 mL of urine.

    1. DO NOT collect more than 50 mL of urine.

  5. Place the cap back on the collection cup and close it.

    1. Turn the cap until you hear 2 clicks. It is not fully closed until you hear the 2 clicks.

  6. Wipe any drops of urine off the outside of the cup.

  7. Place the sample into the provided specimen bag.

  8. Seal the bag.

  9. Place the specimen bag into the freezer for at least 2 hours.

    1. The urine sample should stay in the freezer until it is shipped.

  10. Complete the test requisition form.

    1. NOTE: Your sample will not be analyzed by the lab if it arrives at the lab without a completed test requisition form.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Please print the requisition form from your Rupa patient portal and send it back with your samples.

  • NOTE: Your sample will not be analyzed by the lab if your requisition form is not completed and sent with your sample.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.


Shipping

  • Ship your sample as soon as possible after collection.

  • To prepare your sample for shipping,

    • Place the completed test requisition form into the outside pocket of the specimen bag.

    • Place the collection cup into the specimen bag.

    • Place the specimen bag into the freezer for at least 2 hours.

    • Place the frozen urine specimen (in the bag) into the test kit box.

    • Place the test kit box into the provided FedEx return mailer.

    • Seal the mailer.

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • Ship your sample via FedEx.

    • DO NOT place your sample in a FedEx drop box.

    • You can take your sample to the nearest FedEx location.

    • You can also schedule a FedEx pickup by calling 1-800-463-3339.

      • When the automated greeting begins, say, “Schedule a pickup.”

      • When asked if your label has the word “Stamp” on it, say, “Yes.”

      • Let them know you are shipping using a Billable Stamp.

      • Your tracking number can be found on the Return Label.

    • Please note that "Exempt Human Specimen" does not need to be marked on the return shipping label.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 5-10 business days after your sample is received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
