The Cyrex Array 14 investigates the outcomes of compromised immune tolerance on the body. It assists in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases, intestinal barrier dysfunction, and food and chemical immune reactivity.

Preparation & Timing

  • Collect your samples Monday - Thursday only.

  • If you are taking immunosuppressants or corticosteroids, consult your healthcare provider regarding the timing of this test, as certain medications can affect the test results.

  • Avoid using the following items on the day of collection:

    • Lip balm

    • Lip ointments

    • Lipstick

  • Avoid the following activities for one hour before sample collection:

    • Brushing your teeth

  • Avoid the following activities for 30 minutes before sample collection:

    • Eating

    • Drinking anything except water


Collection Instructions

  1. Wash your hands.

  2. Remove the shrink band around the specimen tube.

  3. Use the provided gauze pad to wipe the edge of the specimen tube.

  4. Open the specimen tube.

    1. DO NOT discard any preservatives in the tube.

  5. Naturally accumulate saliva in your mouth and spit it into the tube.

  6. Continue to collect saliva until you have 4 mL.

    1. If you have trouble producing saliva, try

      1. Thinking of your favorite food

      2. Yawning

      3. Pressing the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth

    2. The entire sample must be collected within 2 hours of starting.

  7. Recap the specimen tube.

  8. Gently invert the specimen tube several times to mix the sample with the preservative.

  9. Write the following information on the tube label.

    1. Patient's full name

    2. Patient's date of birth

    3. Date of collection

    4. Time the patient finished sample collection

  10. Complete your test requisition form.

  11. Wrap the provided parafilm around the specimen tube and cap to ensure the tube does not leak during shipping.

  12. Place the specimen tube into the biohazard bag.

  13. Refrigerate your samples until you are ready to ship.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.


Shipping

  • Ship your sample on the day of collection, Monday - Thursday only.

  • To prepare your sample for shipping,

    • Wrap the provided parafilm around the specimen tube and cap to ensure the tube does not leak during shipping.

    • Place the specimen tube into the biohazard bag.

    • Place the biohazard bag into the foam insert.

    • Place the foam insert into the test kit box.

    • Place the completed test requisition form into the test kit box.

    • Place the test kit box into the UPS Laboratory Pak.

    • Seal the UPS Laboratory Pak.

    • Place the shipping label on the UPS Laboratory Pak.

  • Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track the shipment back to the lab.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
