The LipidSeq test is a comprehensive 23-gene sequencing panel designed to identify the genetic factors responsible for lipid and lipoprotein disorders. These disorders are often linked to conditions such as premature cardiovascular disease, pancreatitis, kidney disease, or neurologic disease.

🧪 These tests MUST be run through a saliva sample.
📄 The Rupa Health team will email you your test requisition form. You must PRINT, COMPLETE, and SEND BACK the requisition form with your kit.
Preparation & Timing
You can do this test at any time.
Avoid the following activities for 30 minutes before collecting your samples.
Eating
Drinking
Smoking
Chewing gum
Brushing your teeth
Flossing your teeth
Collection Instructions
Rinse your mouth with water 10 minutes before collecting your sample.
Unscrew the cap on the sample collection tube.
Pool saliva in your mouth.
To help produce saliva, try
Yawning
Thinking of your favorite food
Smelling lemons or lemon juice
Tilt your head forward.
Push saliva down into the tube using your tongue.
Fill the tube to the fill line.
Screw the cap tightly on the tube.
Write the following information on the specimen tube.
Patient's full name
Patient's date of birth
PRINT and COMPLETE your test requisition form.
This form was emailed to you from the Rupa Health team.
You can also find it in your Rupa Health patient portal.
Place the saliva tube into the biohazard bag.
Place the completed requisition form into the outside pocket on the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the test kit box.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.
YOUR REQUISITION FORM CAN BE FOUND IN YOUR RUPA PATIENT PORTAL. RUPA HEALTH WILL ALSO EMAIL IT TO YOU.
Please print out this form, complete it, and send it back with your samples.
You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.
Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.
Shipping
To prepare your sample for shipping,
Place the specimen tube into the biohazard bag.
Place the completed requisition form into the outside pocket on the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the test kit box.
Place the test kit box into the provided shipping envelope.
Seal the shipping envelope.
Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Ship your sample via FedEx.
Take your sample to the nearest FedEx shipping location.
DO NOT place your sample in a FedEx drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 10-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
