This test measures the levels of glyphosate, a common chemical found in weed killers like Roundup, in your urine. Glyphosate can enter our bodies through food or direct contact, potentially leading to health issues such as dizziness, abdominal pain, and more serious conditions.


Key Details

  • ❌ DO NOT collect your sample when you are menstruating or when you have a UTI.

  • πŸ’¨ Ensure the sample is completely dry before shipping it back to the lab.

  • 🚚 Ship your sample back to the lab within 48 hours of collection.


Preparation & Timing

  • DO NOT collect your sample while:

    • You are menstruating.

    • You have a urinary tract infection.

    • You are taking methylene blue.

  • If you take any medications and supplements, consult your healthcare provider regarding collection timing.

    • Some supplements and medications may impact results.

    • Do not discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider.

  • Avoid excessive fluid intake the evening before collection.

    • If your sample is too dilute, it will not be able to be analyzed.


Collection Instructions

  1. You will collect your first morning urine.

    1. Collect before eating or drinking.

    2. If you have a nontraditional schedule, collect your first urine after your longest stretch of sleep.

  2. Write the following information on the specimen tube label:

    1. Patient's full name

    2. Patient's date of birth

  3. Complete the test requisition form.

    1. Please ensure the name on your sample, requisition form, and Rupa order all match. You may be required to recollect your sample if they do not match.

  4. Start urinating - do not collect the first portion of urine.

  5. Start collecting urine mid-stream in the collection cup.

  6. Fill the collection cup about 2/3 full.

  7. Finish urinating into the toilet.

  8. Use the provided pipette to transfer urine into the specimen tube.

    1. Squeeze the top of the pipette.

    2. Place the pipette into the collection cup.

    3. Release pressure on the top of the pipette to draw urine into the pipette.

    4. Place the pipette into the specimen tube.

    5. Squeeze the top to release urine into the specimen tube.

  9. Fill the specimen tube with urine to the 7 mL line.

  10. Place the cap back onto the specimen tube.

  11. Twist the cap tightly to seal the tube.

  12. Place the specimen tube into the other biohazard bag with the absorbent pad and seal tightly.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your sample.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.


Shipping

  • Ship your sample back to the lab within 48 hours of collection.

  • If you cannot ship your sample on the day of collection, place the liquid specimen tube in the freezer until you can ship it.

    • Please write the date the sample was frozen on the test requisition form.

  • To prepare your sample for shipping,

    • Place the specimen tube into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad.

    • Seal the bag securely.

    • Place the biohazard bag into the test kit box.

    • Place the completed test requisition form into the test kit box.

    • Seal the box.

    • Place the test kit box into the provided prepaid mailer.

    • Seal the prepaid mailer.

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your sample back to the lab.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 5-10 business days after your sample is received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
