Collection Instructions
☀️ Bristle Health recommends collecting your sample when you wake up in the morning.
Take one of the tubes out of the packaging.
Unwrap the funnel.
Unscrew the blue cap from the tube.
DO NOT spill the buffer liquid in the tube.
Push the narrow end of the funnel into the tube's opening.
Make sure the funnel is secure!
Spit into the funnel to get your saliva into the tube.
Fill the tube with saliva until the tube is about 2/3 full.
If you have trouble producing saliva, try
Yawning
Thinking of your favorite food
Touching your tongue to the roof of your mouth.
Carefully remove the funnel from the tube.
DO NOT spill the saliva and liquid in the tube!
Tightly twist the blue cap on the tube.
Invert the tube 5-10 times to mix the saliva and buffer liquid.
Make a note of the barcode on the tube for your records.
Place the sample tube into the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the mailer envelope.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.
You DO NOT need to register your kit online before sending it back to the lab.
Shipping
Return your sample within 3 days of receiving the kit.
Ship your samples as soon as possible after collection.
To prepare your sample for shipping,
Place the sample tube into the biohazard bag.
Seal the biohazard bag.
Place the biohazard bag into the mailer envelope.
Seal the mailer envelope.
Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.
Take your sample to the nearest UPS location.
Rupa Health recommends NOT placing your sample in a drop box.
Results
Results should be released to your provider 2-3 weeks after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
