The Advanced Oxidative Stress Profile measures several markers of oxidative stress in urine and blood.

Preparation & Timing

  • Blood sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Thursday ONLY.

  • Collect your urine sample before your blood draw.

  • Freeze the provided ice pack for at least 4-6 hours before your blood draw.


Collection Instructions

Urine Collection Instructions

  1. You can collect your sample at any time of the day.

  2. Collect urine in the provided collection cup.

  3. Use the provided pipette to transfer 5 mL of urine to the yellow top transfer tube.

  4. Write the following information on the tube using a permanent marker.

    1. Patient's first and last name

    2. Patient's date of birth

    3. Date of collection

  5. Place the yellow top transfer tube in the freezer.

    1. Leave the sample in the freezer until you go to your blood draw.

  6. Bring the frozen urine sample with you to your blood draw.

Blood Collection Instructions

  1. Read this article to prepare for your blood draw.

  2. Freeze the provided ice pack for at least 4-6 hours before your blood draw.

  3. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. Frozen ice pack

    3. Frozen urine sample

    4. Completed test requisition form

  4. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • You must complete your requisition form and send it back with your samples.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.


Shipping

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

  • Samples should be shipped Monday - Thursday only.

  • Samples should be received by the lab within 5 days of collection.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 business days after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
