If your practitioner has ordered Mosaic Diagnostics tests with multiple sample types, consult THIS DOCUMENT to determine the order in which you should collect your samples.

If you are a menstruating woman, collect one day during days 19-23 of your menstrual cycle (assuming a 28-day cycle).
- Day 1 of your cycle is the first day of your period.
If you are a man or a non-menstruating woman, collect on any day.
If you are taking any of the following hormones, collect your sample halfway between doses.
- Hormone injections
- Hormone pellets
- Transdermal patch hormones

Stop using cortisol-containing products, including:
- Cortisol supplements
- Glucocorticoid
- Cortisol-containing medications
Consult with your healthcare provider before discontinuing any prescription medications.

Stop using topical hormones.
Stop using sublingual hormones or troches.
- Drink 2 full glasses of water (about 16 oz) after taking your last dose to clean the tissues.

DO NOT take any supplements or non-essential medications.
DO NOT consume any caffeine-containing foods and beverages.
DO NOT use anti-aging creams.
DO NOT take any hormones.

You must avoid certain activities before sample collection..
You will collect 4 samples.
1. Collect following the schedule above.
Wash your hands.
Rinse your mouth with water.
Wait 10 minutes before beginning collection.
Collect your saliva in the appropriate tube (see schedule above).
1. Fill the tube 3/4 full (bubbles are okay).
If you have trouble producing saliva, try
1. Yawning
2. Thinking of your favorite food
3. Touching your tongue to the roof of your mouth.
When the tube is 3/4 full, snap the tube closed tightly.
Write the following information on one barcode sticker.
1. Your full name
2. Date of collection
3. Time of collection
Check the box "Check if Frozen" on the barcode stickers.
Place a barcode sticker on the saliva tube.
Place the saliva tube in the freezer immediately.
Repeat steps 4-13 for each of the four collections.
When all four tubes have been collected, place them in the plastic bag with the absorbent material.
Keep all saliva tubes in the freezer until you are ready to ship them.
1. Samples should be frozen for at least 4-6 hours before shipping.

Ship as soon as possible after collection, Monday - Thursday only.
Freeze the ice pack and your samples for at least 4-6 hours before shipping.
To prepare your samples for shipping,
- Remove the saliva samples from the freezer.
- Place the saliva samples into the biohazard bag.
- Seal the bag.
- Place the frozen ice pack into the silver thermo bag.
- Place the biohazard bag into the silver thermo bag.
- Seal the bag.
- Place the silver thermo bag into the box.
- Place the box into the UPS Laboratory Pak.
- Fill in your information on the Billable Stamp and place it on the UPS Laboratory Pak.
Make a note of your tracking number so that you can track the samples back to the lab.
Ship using UPS.
- You can take your samples to the nearest UPS location.
- DO NOT place your samples in a UPS drop box.

Results should be released to your provider 2-3 weeks after samples are received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
