Key Details
Blood sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist.

Complete your urine collection prior to your blood draw.
Do not collect while menstruating.
Decrease your fluid intake the day before collecting your urine sample.
You must fast overnight prior to your blood draw.
Preparation & Timing

If you are taking immunosuppressive drugs, such as cortisone, consult your healthcare practitioner regarding the timing of this test.
You may continue taking your nutritional supplements.
Do not collect while menstruating.
Complete your urine collection prior to your blood draw.
Decrease fluid intake the day before collecting your urine sample.
Drink no more than 24 oz of fluids in the 24 hours prior to urine collection.
Drink no more than 8 oz after 8:00 pm the night before urine collection.
You must fast overnight (starting at 9 pm) prior to your blood draw.
Collection Instructions
Urine Collection
Using a permanent marker, write the following information on the sample tubes.
Your first and last name
Your date of birth
Your gender
The date of collection
Empty your bladder before going to bed at night.
DO NOT collect this urine.
If you wake during the night to urinate, collect this urine into a clean container.
Collect your first morning urine into a clean container.
Use the same container you used overnight.
Use the provided pipette to transfer urine into the clear cap plastic tube.
Fill to 12 mL. DO NOT overfill.
DO NOT touch or dispose of the preservative in the tube.
Tightly screw the cap back on the tube.
Dispose of the remaining urine.
Freeze the clear cap tube and the provided ice packets.
Place the clear cap tube in the biohazard bag with one ice packet and bring it with you to the blood draw.
Complete the test registration (instructions HERE).
Blood Collection
Fast overnight (starting around 9 pm) prior to your blood draw.
Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.
Test kit
Frozen ice packets
Frozen urine sample
Completed activation card
Rupa Health recommends getting your blood drawn Monday - Thursday only.
The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.
Shipping
Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.
The phlebotomist will ship your samples for you using the materials provided in the test kit.
Samples should be shipped within 48 hours of collection.

Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-21 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
Your provider may choose to release your results to you. Rupa cannot release your results without provider authorization.
