Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist.

If you take medications or supplements, speak to your healthcare practitioner regarding timing.
You must fast for at least 12 hours prior to your blood draw.

Preparation & Timing

Please speak to your healthcare practitioner regarding timing if you take medications or supplements.
Some practitioners wish to have baseline measurements, while others wish to monitor medication efficacy.
If you take N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), you may get falsely low results.
Do not discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider.
Do not collect your sample while you are unwell (infection, acute illness, tissue injury, etc.).
Avoid exercise for 24 hours prior to sample collection.
You must fast for at least 12 hours prior to sample collection.
You may drink water during your fast.
Freeze the provided freezer brick for at least 8 hours prior to your blood draw.
You must bring this with you to your blood draw.
Collection Instructions
Freeze the provided freezer brick for at least 8 hours prior to your blood draw.
Complete the test registration (instructions HERE).
Please ensure that the name on the registration matches the name on your Rupa order EXACTLY. If it does not match, you may need to recollect your samples.

Completed activation card
The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

NOTE: If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, Genova recommends shipping with dry ice to ensure your samples arrive frozen, as overnight shipping is not guaranteed due to the distance. If your samples do not arrive frozen, you may need to recollect. Please note on your activation card if you use dry ice.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.
Shipping
Make a note of the tracking number on the return envelope so that you may track your samples back to the lab.
The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-21 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
