This panel combines the Gut Zoomer 3.0 Complete and the Food Sensitivity 1 Profile. The Gut Zoomer 3.0 Complete investigates the intestinal microbiome to determine the root cause of inflammation and gastrointestinal symptoms, while the Food Sensitivity 1 Profile measures antibodies to common foods to determine sensitivities.

Key Details

  • You will collect two samples: a stool sample and a serum sample.

  • Collect and ship samples back to the lab Monday - Friday only.

  • Blood sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist.

    • You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Fasting is not required.

  • Do not collect samples while menstruating.

Preparation & Timing

  • It is recommended to collect your stool sample prior to your blood draw so that the samples can be shipped together.

  • Please confirm with the phlebotomist that they will be able to ship both samples together for you.


Stool Test Preparation

  • Do not collect samples while menstruating.

  • There are no required diet, medication, or supplement restrictions.

  • Collect and ship your sample Monday - Friday only.


Serum Test Preparation

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Friday only.

  • Freeze the provided ice packs for at least 24 hours prior to your blood draw.

  • Fasting is not required.

  • If you are currently taking or have recently taken any of the following medications, consult your healthcare provider regarding the timing of collection.

    • Steroids

    • Immunosuppressive medications

    • Biologic agents

    • Other immunomodulating medications

Collection Instructions

Stool Collection

  1. Write the following information on each tube.

    1. Your name

    2. Your date of birth

    3. The date of collection

    4. The time of collection

  2. Put on the disposable gloves.

  3. Open the sampling sheet.

  4. Remove the protective covering from the tape on the sampling sheet.

  5. Adhere the sampling sheet to the toilet seat as shown.

    1. DO NOT let the sheet touch the water.

  6. Collect stool on the sampling sheet.

    1. DO NOT let stool touch water or urine.

  7. Use the provided scoop to add stool to each sample tube.

    1. DO NOT touch or dispose of the liquid in the tubes.

    2. Fill to the fill line. DO NOT overfill.

  8. Recap each tube tightly.

  9. Flush both the sampling sheet and excess stool down the toilet.

  10. Place the sample tubes into the biohazard bag with the absorbent material.

  11. Place the biohazard bag into the refrigerator until shipping.

  12. Remove the disposable gloves.

  13. Wash your hands to prevent contamination.


Serum Collection

  1. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. Stool sample

    3. Frozen ice packs

    4. Completed test requisition form

  2. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

    1. Your test kit may come with more tubes than needed. Please have the phlebotomist check the collection instructions and your test requisition form to determine the correct tubes to draw.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your sample back to the lab.

  • The phlebotomist will ship your samples for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

  • If you need to ship your stool sample on your own,

    • Place the stool specimen tubes into the biohazard bag.

      • Place into the refrigerator until shipping.

    • Place the completed requisition form into the back pocket of the biohazard bag.

    • Place the biohazard bag into the provided return bubble mailer.

    • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

    • Return via FedEx as soon as possible, Monday - Friday only.

      • Visit www.fedex.com or call 1-800-463-3339 to schedule a pickup of your samples.

      • You can also take your samples to the nearest FedEx location.

      • DO NOT place your samples in a FedEx drop box.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
