This panel combines the Gut Zoomer 3.0 and the Wheat Zoomer to determine the root cause of inflammation and gastrointestinal symptoms.

Key Details

  • These instructions are for the following tests:

    • Wheat Zoomer + Gut Zoomer 3.0

    • Wheat Zoomer + Gut Commensals

    • Wheat Zoomer + Gut Pathogens

  • Do not collect samples while menstruating.

  • You must avoid certain medications prior to testing.

  • Let the collection card dry for at least 2 hours prior to shipping.

  • Ship samples via FedEx using the provided, prepaid mailer.

Preparation & Timing

  • If you are taking any of the following medications, consult your healthcare provider regarding the timing of this test.

    • Laxatives

    • Probiotics

    • Steroids

    • Immunosuppressive medications

    • Biologic agents

    • Other immunomodulating medications

  • Do not collect samples while menstruating.

  • Hydrate the day prior to your test.

Collection Instructions

Stool Collection

  1. Urinate prior to sample collection.

  2. Write the following information on each tube.

    1. Your full name

    2. Your date of birth

    3. Date of collection

    4. Time of collection

  3. Put on the disposable gloves.

  4. Open the sampling sheet.

  5. Remove the protective covering from the tape on the sampling sheet.

  6. Adhere the sampling sheet to the toilet seat as shown.

    1. DO NOT let the sheet touch the water.

  7. Collect stool on the sampling sheet.

    1. DO NOT let stool touch water or urine.

  8. Use the provided scoop to add stool to each sample tube.

    1. DO NOT touch or dispose of the liquid in the tubes.

    2. Fill to the fill line. DO NOT overfill.

  9. Recap each tube tightly.

  10. Flush both the sampling sheet and excess stool down the toilet.

  11. Place the sample tubes into the biohazard bag with the absorbent material.

  12. Place the biohazard bag into the refrigerator until shipping.

  13. Remove the disposable gloves.

  14. Wash your hands to prevent contamination.


Blood Spot Collection

  1. Write the following information on the collection card.

    1. Your full name

    2. Your date of birth

    3. Date of collection

    4. Time of collection

  2. Open the alcohol wipe.

  3. Wash your hands with warm (not hot) water for at least 1 minute.

  4. Dry your hands with a clean towel.

  5. Rub your hands together and swing your arms to encourage blood flow.

  6. Choose a finger on your non-dominant hand to poke.

  7. Rub your chosen finger from base to tip.

  8. In one single swoop, wipe the tip of your finger with the alcohol wipe.

  9. Open the lancet by twisting the cap off.

  10. Turn your palm up and press the lancet into the side of your chosen finger until you hear a click and feel a pinch.

  11. Wipe the first drop of blood away with the gauze pad.

  12. Rub your finger from base to tip.

  13. Allow a blood drop to form.

  14. Let the blood drop fall from your finger into the collection circle.

    1. Do NOT touch your finger to the card.

  15. Fill the circle as full as possible with a single drop of blood.

    1. Do NOT add a second drop of blood to a circle.

  16. Fill in all of the collection card circles.

  17. Use a gauze pad to wipe the blood off your finger and apply pressure.

  18. Bandage your finger.

  19. Leave the collection card open to dry for at least 2 hours in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

    1. DO NOT add additional blood drops after the spots have dried.

    2. The blood spots will darken as they dry.

  20. Fold the collection card.

  21. Place the collection card in the biohazard bag with the humidity indicator and silica gel packs.

  22. Seal the bag tightly.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • To prepare your samples for shipping,

    • Place the stool specimen tubes into a biohazard bag. Seal the bag tightly.

      • Keep in the refrigerator until shipping.

    • Ensure the blood spot collection card is completely dry.

      • It should have dried for at least 2 hours.

    • Place the collection card in a biohazard bag with the humidity indicator and silica gel packs. Seal the bag tightly.

    • Place the two biohazard bags into the provided, prepaid bubble mailer.

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return label so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

  • Ship via FedEx as soon as possible, Monday - Friday only.

    • You can take your samples to the nearest FedEx location.

    • You can also visit www.fedex.com or call 1-800-463-3339 to schedule a pickup of your samples.

    • DO NOT place your samples in a FedEx drop box.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 7-14 days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
