This panel combines the IgG Food MAP and Organic Acids Test (OAT). It helps identify how certain foods might be affecting your gut balance, digestion of nutrients, and overall nutritional needs. This information is valuable for understanding possible food-related issues and improving your gut health with personalized dietary recommendations.

Preparation & Timing

  • Save the cardboard test kit box - you will use this to ship back your sample.

  • You will collect two samples - urine and blood. You must collect your urine sample before getting your blood drawn.

  • DO NOT collect your urine sample while menstruating.

  • Avoid antibiotics for 48 hours before urine sample collection.

    • If you are taking antibiotics, you should complete the course, wait 48 hours, and then collect.

  • Avoid the following foods and supplements for 48 hours before urine sample collection.

    • Apples and apple juice

    • Grapes (including raisins) and grape juice

    • Pears and pear juice

    • Cranberries and cranberry juice

    • Echinacea

    • Reishi mushrooms

    • Arabinogalactan

    • Ribose supplements

  • Collect your urine sample upon waking.

  • DO NOT eat or drink before collecting your urine sample.

  • Blood sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Thursday ONLY.

  • Hydrate before your blood draw.


Collection Instructions

Urine Collection

  1. Collect your first morning urine in the provided collection cup.

    1. Collect before eating or drinking.

    2. You will need a minimum of 10 mL for each urine test ordered.

  2. Pour off any urine above the 50 mL line to prevent your sample from leaking.

  3. Screw the collection cup lid on tightly.

  4. Write the following information on a barcode sticker.

    1. Your full name

    2. Date of collection

    3. Time of collection

  5. Check the box "Check if Frozen" on the barcode sticker.

  6. Place the barcode sticker on the collection cup.

  7. Place the following items into the freezer.

    1. Collection cup

    2. Provided gel pack (lay it flat!)

  8. The sample and gel pack should remain in the freezer for a minimum of 4 hours before shipping.

    1. Keep them in the freezer until ready to ship.

    2. Your frozen sample is only viable for 30 days after collection.

  9. You will take your frozen urine sample with you to your blood draw.

Blood Collection

  1. Read this article to prepare for your blood draw.

  2. Find the barcode sample collection stickers sheet.

  3. Write the following information on the barcode stickers.

    1. Your full name

    2. Date of collection

  4. Place a barcode sticker on each sample tube included in your kit.

  5. Repack your kit to bring with you to your blood draw.

  6. Bring the following items with you to your blood draw appointment.

    1. Test kit

    2. FROZEN urine sample

    3. FROZEN gel pack

  7. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your samples for you.

    1. Your test may come with additional vials. Please have the phlebotomist check the collection instructions to determine the correct number of vials to draw.


Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

  • You DO NOT need to register your kit online or complete a requisition form.


Shipping

  • Your samples must be frozen for a minimum of 4 hours before shipping.

  • Make a note of the tracking number on the return mailer so that you can track your samples back to the lab.

  • The phlebotomist will ship your samples for you using the materials provided in the test kit.


Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 2-3 weeks after your sample is received at the lab. Rupa Health cannot guarantee processing time.
