This panel measures the circulating levels of fat-soluble vitamins to provide an indication of their status and any deficiencies.

Key Details

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Friday only.

    • Information about scheduling a blood draw can be found HERE.

    • You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Fast overnight (at least 8 hours) prior to your blood draw.

  • You must avoid certain medications for 24 hours prior to your blood draw.

Preparation & Timing

  • Sample collection must be performed by a phlebotomist, Monday - Friday only.

  • Fast overnight (at least 8 hours) prior to your blood draw.

  • Avoid non-essential medications and dietary supplements containing fat-soluble vitamins for 24 hours prior to your blood draw. Examples include,

    • Vitamin D

    • Vitamin D2

    • Vitamin D3

    • Beta-Carotene

    • CoQ10

    • Retinol

    • Tocopherol alpha (Vitamin E)

    • Tocopherol gamma (Vitamin E)

    • Vitamin K

    • Do NOT discontinue any prescription medications without contacting your healthcare provider.

  • Freeze the provided freezer brick for at least 6 hours prior to your blood draw.

Collection Instructions

  1. Bring the entire test kit (including the cardboard shipping box), frozen ice pack, and completed test requisition form to your blood draw appointment.

  2. The phlebotomist will collect, prepare, and ship your sample for you.

Requisition & Payment

  • Your kit has been prepaid. You may need to pay a separate fee for phlebotomy.

  • Instructions on how to fill out your requisition can be found HERE.

    • Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on any of these forms.

Shipping

  • The phlebotomist will ship your sample for you using the materials provided in the test kit.

  • Samples should be shipped Monday - Friday only.

Results

  • Results should be released to your provider 3-8 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.

  • Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
