Key Details
Do not collect while menstruating.

Preparation & Timing
DO NOT collect while menstruating.
Consult your healthcare provider prior to testing if you have abnormal kidney function or take any of these medications. They may affect test results.

4 DAYS BEFORE COLLECTION
Your healthcare provider may want you to discontinue nonessential supplements and medications.
Consult your healthcare provider before discontinuing any medications.
24 HOURS BEFORE COLLECTION
Eat your usual diet.
Avoid over-consuming any one food or consuming any extreme diet.
Limit fluid intake to 48 oz over the whole 24-hour period.
NIGHT BEFORE COLLECTION
Fast overnight. You may drink water during the fast.
Freeze the provided freezer brick for at least 8 hours.
DO NOT use mouthwash.
MORNING OF COLLECTION
Collect your sample immediately upon waking.
Avoid the following activities:
Eating
Drinking anything but water
Brushing or flossing your teeth
Using mouthwash
If you have any add-ons, you will collect all of your samples on the same day.

This test will be analyzed from the same urine sample as the main Metabolomix+ test.

This test will be analyzed from the same urine sample as the main Metabolomix+ test.

Collection Instructions
Write the following information on the labels.
Your date of birth
The date of collection
Attach a completed label to each of the urine tubes.
If you wake to urinate during the night (within 6 hours of waking), collect the urine into the provided collection cup.
DO NOT fill the cup completely.
Place the lid on the cup.
Refrigerate the sample until the morning.
IMMEDIATELY UPON WAKING, collect urine into the provided collection cup.
Pass any additional urine into the toilet.
Use the pipette to transfer urine from the collection container into the four collection tubes.
Fill each tube nearly full.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to global supply-chain issues, the Blue-top Amber Tube will be temporarily replaced with a Black-top Amber Tube. Either tube will be accepted for this test.
Recap the tubes tightly.
Shake the tubes.
Place the tubes into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad.
Freeze the four tubes and the provided freezer brick for at least 24 hours.
NOTE: If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, Genova recommends shipping with dry ice to ensure your samples arrive frozen, as overnight shipping is not guaranteed due to the distance. If your samples do not arrive frozen, you may need to recollect. Please note on your activation card if you use dry ice.
Collect the blood spot and/or swab samples (if ordered).

Complete the test registration (instructions HERE).
Please ensure that the name on the registration matches the name on your Rupa order EXACTLY. If it does not match, you may need to recollect your samples.
Requisition & Payment
Your kit has been prepaid. You DO NOT need to pay anything extra.

Since you pre-paid for your tests, you do not need to fill in the payment information on this form.
Shipping
Ship samples as soon as possible after your final collection.
Urine samples should be frozen for at least 24 hours prior to shipping.

To prepare your samples for shipping,
Confirm that all tubes, the blood spot card (if applicable), and the swab envelope (if applicable) have a completed label.
Place the four urine tubes into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad.
Ensure the tubes have been frozen for at least 24 hours.
Place the frozen samples into the foam insulator box.
Place the frozen freezer brick into the foam insulator box.
Place the lid on the foam insulator box.
Place the foam insulator box into the outer collection box.
Place the completed activation card into the outer collection box.
If you have any of the add-on tests, please include the add-on samples in the collection box.
Place the outer collection box into the provided FedEx mailer.
Make a note of the tracking number so that you can track your sample back to the lab.
Ship your samples via FedEx.
You can take your samples to the nearest FedEx location.
DO NOT place your samples in a drop box.

Results
Results should be released to your provider 7-21 business days after samples are received at the lab. We cannot guarantee processing time.
Your provider will notify you when your results are in and schedule a follow-up appointment for you to review them together.
